Fred Phelps lived from 1929 to 2014. He, as most of you might know, hated gay marriage as much as he hated the supporters. He would picket gay funerals, Sandy Hook funerals, and American solider funerals. Armed with sings saying 'God hates Fags', 'Thank God for IEDs' and 'Fags doom Nations.' and such, he and his group of followers (which actually was growing.) ruined more than a thousand funerals and broke even more hearts. He was so bad, that 'he made the word 'fag' something that only hateful people, not 'Christians' used' as said Emily Timbol from the Huffington Press. A 2011 court ruling upheld his actions, but ordinary citizens made human walls in between the Fred and the funerals. Some think he was a hero, some think 'God reserved the deepest place in hell'(said by Alexandra Petri) for him, but where ever he is now, I am glad he is gone.
