Carl Orff, Great Composer, Overused Music.

Hey guys, it's Adventure Van here with a blog about Carl Orff, a composer who as much as you haven't heard of him, you've heard his music. I'm not saying that lightly. You have heard at least one of his pieces. Because they're everywhere, and overused. He's a great composer, and there are worse songs that you hear on a regular basis. But, have you ever heard O Fortuna? That's an overused song. It's in half the movies you've seen. Because it's a great, epic song. But you don't know the name of the guy who wrote it, likely.

Maybe you don't even know the name of the piece itself. If that's the case, here's the piece.

But, how did this song come into existence? Once, we found a monastery. In this monastery. we found lyrics. But no music. So, composers tried to come up with music that fit. And Carl Orff did a damn good job with it. Because that's what we use, to this very day. In movies, in videos, over the radio, anywhere. He did an amazing job. And that's just for this.

He also did beautiful music outside of the stuff on the monastery, which was great. He also did nice, neat songs for kids to learn. And that stuff was used horribly, as one such song, for kids trying to learn percussion, was used at the opening of the 1936 Olympics. You know, the ones in Germany, when Hitler was in power. And it's also been used in movies for the themes of innocent people like serial killers.

But that's not the way to look at his music. Carl Orff was born in 1895, and spent his life working on beautiful pieces of music and training for children. And he did amazing. And he deserves to be known for that, not for what his music has been used for, be it Nazi Germany, or just an overused piece.

Freeze the Hunger!

Hey guys, it's Adventure Van here with a blog about the Hunger Nerve. What is the Hunger Nerve? It's a nerve, and it makes you hungry. But did you know, that you can freeze this nerve and stop feeling hungry? I mean, literally freeze it. By injecting an needle into your skin, and freezing the posterior vagal trunk with argon gas, you'll just stop feeling hungry. Is that a good thing? No, probably not. But it will help you with a starvation diet, or a light version.

Adventure Van, perfectly healthy.

This Thing Exists? The Privacy Invader. Now with Selfies!

Hey guys, it's Adventure Van here with a blog about the Skydio R1, which is a drone with a camera attached so it can take pictures of you. And it can follow you. After it scans your face, clothing, and gait, it'll be almost unshakable until it's off or runs out of battery power. The price you pay, along with getting something that can only spy on you? Only 2,499$. What a bargain. If there's internet, it'll be able to live stream it to places like Twitter and Facebook, Skype, and the like. And there is no way that could backfire at all! If, for some reason, you wanted to look at it, here's the link. But be careful about who's looking at who.

Adventure Van, confused about why this exists.

Giant Dog

Hey guys, it's Adventure Van here  a blog about the worlds largest puppy. In Utah, this dog has been bred to recreate a 7,000 year long gone species of ginormous dog. At just 9 months, this canine is eating 8 cups of dog food a day, weighs 120 pounds, and stands 6 feet tall on their back legs. They're also a cute little puppo! I mean, look at it! Just from wagging it's tail, it can knock people down! And it can run fast. Really fast! And it's huge, did I mention that? It's a doooog! Look at it!

The Peace Bridge

Hey guys, it's Adventure Van here with a blog about the United States/Canada Peace Bridge. It's an amazing bridge that's lasted over 90 years, is a monument to peace between the United States and Canada, looks amazing with the LEDs installed in it. It costed billions of dollars to create, but it has paid for itself. And continues to do so. In a year, it'll be open to be biked and walked across, and it'll still have the average 20,000 cars that pass over it daily. It's a beautiful testament, which is both practical and good looking. I'll show a picture of it down below, because it with the LEDs on is just amazing.
