A Trip to the ROM ,April 6 2012 AD

A Trip to the ROM ,April 6 2012 AD
I went to the ROM on April 6, and this is what I learned:
Maya civilization http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_civilization

There is a pot that your SUPPOSED to blow in! To make chocolate, the Mayans blow in a hole in the pot to bubble it up.
The Mayan era is thousands of years. The era we are in ends 12\22\12
And you don't want to know what they did to their teeth & ears !
They used intense burners for religious ceremonies.
So the Maya civilization is interesting, isn't it?
12\22\12 is not the end of the world, its the start of a party! (I don't believe the people who say "Its the end of the world! ". )

First Nations
The Inuit are an Indian group who live on ice!
They ate their food raw! They would fish with just strings. They had to make houses out of ice. They ate seal too!
I watched Nanook Of The North. Here's part 1:

It's about a life on the ice. I don't like people who like sushi but not raw fish, because its the same!! It was a struggle to survive.

Here's information:

This page is a really great quick shot if you want a little info about the Inuit/Eskimo.
windows2universe.org/earth/polar/inuit_culture.html
You can see, and buy art by Eskimo/Inuits.

I like this page because it shows most of the life of the Eskimo/Inuit. It's very detailed and has information from pre historic times, which is what I am now studying in history class, to now.

This is a lot of information.

  1. I'm wondering if we should have some people over for an Eskimo party and watch this on the big screen.
