Magdeburg Experiment

Otto Von Guericke made the Magdeburg hemispheres, two bronze bowls with suction cups in the middle, and then he attached them together and pumped the air out. He then hooked up hid four horses, two on each side. The horse were baited too go in opposite directions and then ran forward, until their leads ran out, because then the sealed ball, though emtpy, was being held together by air pressure.

That discovery, it gave scientists a big boost, and we're still learning about his experiments today, as he had lots of money and time on his hands, being the Mayor of Magdeburg, he was able to do 29 experiments during his lifetime. WOW!
