Literature is a form of writing that enjoys the reader. It is said to have originated from somewhere in Sumer. It is a beautiful way to convey a message, most of the time. It is also a destructive way to 'get' someone. In China, they wrote on logs, while everyone knows that in Egypt they used papyrus. As it spread, more people picked it up, such as Shakespeare, William Caxton, and Shen Kuo, and it helped spur inventions such as the printing press, made by Johann Gutenberg. Many fun and serious stories popped out of literature, because they WERE literature.
(NOTE)= I'm going to be studying it, starting with the Epic Of Gilgamesh.
There ya go!
