Hey guys, it's Adventure Van here with a blog about the universe's hottest thing: you. Just kidding, of course, but we've found the hottest thing ever discovered. KELT-9b is a exoplanet three times Jupiter's size, with an estimated average temperature of 7,800 degrees Fahrenheit. It's around 650 light-years from earth orbiting a bright, intense, 'new' star. The planet only takes 2 days to travel across the entire sun, and is hotter then it by almost twice as much. And the weirdest thing about it is the fact that it doesn't rotate as earth does, meaning that one side of the planet is constantly being bombarded by heat and radiation. The combination of all of these means that the planet's life is likely short lived, as they will be stripping away the atmosphere by the second and will probably strip the planet down to a core.
That's Adventure Van, being hot.
