James Benjamin Parker

Adventure Van here with a blog about James Benjamin Parker, the man who vastly improved the chances of President McKinley's assassination failing by disarming and fighting the assassin, Leon Czolgosz.  Plenty of people, although I can't say all, have knowledge of the fact that William McKinley, the 25th president of the United States of America, was assassinated by a mentally unwell anarchist. Many less know about the black man, James Benjamin Parker, who could have potentially saved McKinley by drastically reducing the amount of shots gotten by the assassin. After the first shot, the man rushed over as other guards fumbled. Almost the second after they got off a second chance, James hit the assassin in the hand, making them drop the gun, and then hit them another three times, incapacitating them until the guards managed to get to the two.

Of course, it being 1901, he was also treated with heavy suspicion until several bystanders confirmed that he saved McKinley, and was not part of the assassination attempt in the slightest. That, of course, is something confined solely to the past.

Mythology Examination

Adventure Van here with a blog on the National Mythology Exam! It was a very straightforward test with some interesting syllabus and questions on it, as well as some pretty eyeopening moments about how weird ancient mythology is. About 70% of the time, the answer that made the most sense was incorrect. It was an interesting structure, allowing some questions to be skipped depending on the grade level. It was also mainly structured around Greek and Latin mythologies, with one outlier being something a native american mythos.

Organazation

What is organization? It's something often talked about by many, both those with or without the fabled item at hand. It supposedly helps some people's brains, while some contradict this and say the opposite is true. However, it is quite easy to label things as unorganized when other things are at play. A messy floor can easily be categorized as unorganized when it is simply dirty. Someone who is used the the floor may be able to find things quite easily, being organized in their own way. Is this the correct way to do things? As much as it depends on the person, often it is not. It's just that the problem is often misidentified to mean an organizational problem when it is just something else and more simple.

However, there are sometimes where a mess would be directly classified with anti-organizational tendencies. Bookcases are a prime example of this, because of how easy it is to see how organized it is. The less organized it is, the more of a mess it looks, but it's entirely just an organizational mishap. The same can be said about drawers, but to a lesser extent (unfolded clothes are messy, while clothes in the wrong drawer are unorganized).

Where do I fit into the spectrum? Both messy and unorganized.

BPSS

Hey guys, it's Adventure Van here with a blog about Buffalo Philharmonic Symphony Scholars. It's a free program to those who are currently underneath or in a senior grade class. The rehearsal was quite impressive and eyeopening. As much as the music was as impressive as always, seeing how the conductors were capable of pinpointing the musicians having difficulties or being out of tune with the score and able to quickly helping fix the problem. The break in the middle with some of the musicians was also a great learning experience for how the musicians view the scores, seeing how it's a very stressful and repetitive yet rewarding system of learning musical scores. I also learned a few niche bits of information, like how Germanic music is easier to play then French, and how musicians are often much more interested in the food being served then the visitors are.
