Toms's Midnight Garden

Toms Midnight Garden was written by Philippa Pearce in 1958. It's about a boy named tom who is sent to his aunt's house to live until is friend, Peter gets better from the measles. However, one night he finds a hour that shouldn't exist, and while he investigates, he finds a garden that isn't there, and ghosts that came from a long time ago. He is seen only by animals, until he meets a girl named Hatty. He then gets into goose chases, archery, and arguments about which of them are a ghost, until things happen both inside and out of the world. While Hatty, is being healed by a doctor after a fall, Tom has to go home. He fakes to be sick in order to stay longer, and visits Hatty. But Hatty is gone. so is the garden. A large yell is in order, and Tom is the server as he wakes up the entire household. He then meets the upstairs neighbor, who is Hatty, only old, and realizes he should go home. Good book. 4/5. That's what I'm saying, goodbye.

Fighting Back (Weirdly) Against The Russians

A neon sign/morse-code-message may be what you need to fight off the Russians, apparently. The swedes have made a Singing Sailor to fight of the Russians, but.... Uh... You look for yourself:
The "Singing Sailor Underwater Defense System"

It apparently sends out a Morse code signal that translates "THIS WAY IF YOUR GAY".  I will now qoute from the Huffington post:

Anna Ek, SPAS' president, told The Huffington Post by phone that despite the system’s humorous tone, her group’s message is absolutely serious. Their goal is to call out the Russian government for the “awful” conditions for LGBT people in their country and to urge the Swedish government to consider an alternative response to Russia’s alleged violation of its borders besides further costly militarization.- Huntington Post
SO if that works, I'll do another blog. I'm amazed people think up ideas like this.

Caps for sale (not judged)
Written and drawn by Esphyr Slobodkina, I read this book clearly for nostalgia, and not for educational purposes. It's a short story about a man, some monkeys, and caps. The monkeys steal the man's caps, so the man has to try to get the monkeys to give him back his caps.

Q.P #How a bill becomes a law.#

This is a blog about how stuff becomes laws.

A bill comes into play when either a senator or representative comes up with a law. If agreed on, then it goes into a piece of paper, a bill. Depending on whether a senator or representative came up with the law, it goes into the Senate or the House. These people then vote, and if in favor, it goes to the opposite (ex. It's passed in the Senate, so they send it into the House). If they vote in favor, then it is sent to the president, who either agrees or vetoes. If he vetoes, but 2/3rds of the house and senate are for it, then they override the veto. When that happens, or when he agrees with it, it becomes a law.

QP #The Iceman/ Otzi#

The Iceman was found by two climbers, Erika and Helmut Simon, on the alps. He was found in a glacier that had moved to be inside the border of Italy. It is still unknown where the body originated. However, thanks to carbon dating, it is around 5300 years old, the oldest human body found! He had with him a dagger, fur hat, a shoe, birch bark containers, ax, cape, and a bow and quiver. It was, however, very disgusting (see bottom), and it was crudely removed. However, it has brought much evidence. It is a important science stepping stone into seeing what we did such a long time ago.

I found all this in DISCOVERING THE ICEMAN, a book by Shelly Tanaka. It is a good book  and if you enjoy this blog post you might want to get it.
