*Q.P* GPS: Threatening our mental health?

It's Adventure Van here, with a blog about the HORRORS OF GPS (Global Positioning Service)! While that's a bit dramatic, it's proven that using a GPS, or giving someone GPS like directions, can actually damage and 'turn off' the parts of their brain that help use planning and thinking, also known as the Hippocampus and the Prefrontal Cortex. A study by the University College of London showed that compared to people who used maps were using the already stated parts of their brain to get around, but the second group of people with GPSes to get around were using those parts almost none of the time during the project. It's slightly scary to know how the more tech advances, the more danger we're putting in fundamental parts of our brains.

That's Adventure Van, asking for directions.

*Q.P* Pan, Saturn's Moon: Food?

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/content/dam/news/2017/03/09/pan/02-pan-saturn-moon.ngsversion.1489085369050.adapt.590.1.jpg

Hey guys, it's Adventure Van here with a blog about Pan, one of Saturn's most moon-like thing orbiting it.. Unlike what the title says, Pan isn't food, but its shape can be compared to look like a piece of pirogi. It's a result of thousands to millions of years of gravity pulling in ice and stone particles from from the band, resulting in a bulge that makes up the 30-mile planet. The new images that show this are taken from the satellite Atlas, which is nearing the end of its lifespan. Because of concerns that Pan and other large-moons like it could be habitable, Atlas will be crashing into the atmosphere of Saturn itself. If you want to read about it yourself, check here!

That's Adventure Van, orbiting away and away and away ... ....

History Q.P.

This here blogs is going to be all about  the American Civil War! No, not the war itself, but it's effects on the landscape and manufacturing ability. No blood and gore on this channel folks! Anyway, some topics I'm going to touch on: Air Conditioners! Steam and Steel! Rat holes! Wait??? What? You'll learn all about it! Now to the next paragraph!

After the civil war, a large amount of farms and buildings had been destroyed by the north, minimizing what already low housing and and food supplies to a bare nothingness. This made the south dependent on the north, making it the manufacturing area of food and supplies. And, until  a amazing invention made in 1902, something we will get to later, they stayed. A lot of power went into making steel, and making steel used coal and steam, thus giving this paragraph the name Steam and Steel.

And speaking of steam, it was unbearable until 1902, when a buffalo citizen by name of Willis Carrier made the air conditioners! The air conditioner was a invention that let the south begin producing more items and also let them get more population. This population growth led to the need of water, but that's another blog.

And that's a slightly short blog. But two in one day isn't bad!

Skyzone Q.P

I went to Skyzone trampoline park for the monthly homeschool event they have there (two hours for the price of one!) with a friend! They had dodge-ball, foampits you could bounce into, and a huge trampoline area! I spent most of the time in the dodge-ball area, with people getting out as soon as getting in! I'd recommend this place for anyone who needs some vacation time without going on vacation, because it's perfect for reliving stress!

For those who want more info: http://www.skyzone.com/

Thanks for reading!

Michigan Street Baptist Church *Q.P*

Michigan Street Baptist Church was a stop on the Underground Railroad. It was one of the first all-black churches, and it had two separate spots for hiding escaping slaves. One was in the attic, and the other was in what is now the Men's Bathroom. I went there to have a tour, and it was informative. It was pretty scary to be a escaping slave. They had to drug the children to keep them quiet so that they wouldn't alert the bounty hunters of their position.

Q.P #How a bill becomes a law.#

This is a blog about how stuff becomes laws.

A bill comes into play when either a senator or representative comes up with a law. If agreed on, then it goes into a piece of paper, a bill. Depending on whether a senator or representative came up with the law, it goes into the Senate or the House. These people then vote, and if in favor, it goes to the opposite (ex. It's passed in the Senate, so they send it into the House). If they vote in favor, then it is sent to the president, who either agrees or vetoes. If he vetoes, but 2/3rds of the house and senate are for it, then they override the veto. When that happens, or when he agrees with it, it becomes a law.

QP #The Iceman/ Otzi#

The Iceman was found by two climbers, Erika and Helmut Simon, on the alps. He was found in a glacier that had moved to be inside the border of Italy. It is still unknown where the body originated. However, thanks to carbon dating, it is around 5300 years old, the oldest human body found! He had with him a dagger, fur hat, a shoe, birch bark containers, ax, cape, and a bow and quiver. It was, however, very disgusting (see bottom), and it was crudely removed. However, it has brought much evidence. It is a important science stepping stone into seeing what we did such a long time ago.

I found all this in DISCOVERING THE ICEMAN, a book by Shelly Tanaka. It is a good book  and if you enjoy this blog post you might want to get it.

Q.P. *Body Part Printing.*

I believe that the art of donation is going to be in the past soon. Scientists have found a way to reproduce stuff like kidneys, lungs, hearts, bones and more. They have also been working on a way to produce beef, and working on stuff like chicken and pork. I believe that we may never need to kill a animal again! They have also worked, in other news, on robotic arms and legs.

Science Q.P.

This here blog is going to be about the bicycle dynamo! It's not very complex, and it uses magnets! It is a pole between two magnets, south and north, has a wire wrapped around a backwards C shape pole, and is connected on the edge with a screw to your bicycle, or whatever you are using. The pole rotates, creating a small magnetic field. This field is then attracted to the pole, which then turns it into electricity! The wires take it out to wherever it needs to go.

And that's your science for the day! Seeya!

#Q.P.!# Quick update on my knowedge.

Did you know that snakes gave us better vision? WE evolved to avoid snakes by getting to see it before it saw us! So basically:
Small sight + Snake = Larger sight!
So, that is how humans got better sight. See ya!
Thx snake!

Did you know that ICELAND started the woman's right program?
It did, actually! They have woman police, teachers firemen, and jobs that a woman never had before! They even have access to health care! Iceland, even after the crash in 2008, they have bounced back, still with woman in the jobs! The World Economic Program has put Iceland high up on gender equality, and the tiny country is still good!

#Q.P.!# Quick update on my knowedge.

I, who is thinking of being a robot scientist, have stumbled on a week article that a plastic ingredient is on Titan, one of the moons of Saturn. The Cassini has found propylene, a ingredient in Tupperware and many other plastic companies. I think that when I invent a robot that builds rocket ships, the fleet of "Robo-tron 1.00" will launch and I will tweak until I build it well enough that the robots that are inside survive and get to the moon. And as I get the stuff better and better, the " Robo-tron 3.47" will maybe mine and get the material from Titan. Also, more materials have been spotted with the 'building blocks of life', hydrocarbons and water ice on Titans surface and when combined they create amino acids, the 'main block of life'.
The "Robo-tron 1.00"

#Q.P.!# Quick update on my knowedge.

Did you know that there is a gene in mosquitoes that make them bite us more then anything else?
I do!
The gene has three reasons:
  • We (usually) live near bodies of water
  • We exhale carbon dioxide.
  • We have body heat.
And we have different blood than others so we don't feel it.
But...

#Q.P.!# Quick update on my knowedge.

Did you know that a 80 year old Japanese climber climbed Mount Everest!
It's true!Yuichiro Miura went to the top of Mount Everest at 80 years old!
And, of course he did when he was 70 and 75!
From there, he told his daughter he felt on 'top of the world'.
He also has climbed other mountains!
Also, speaking of mountains...

... let us do just that!
Mountains are hills that have had erosion.
Hills are piles of dirt that have had erosion.
Piles of dirt are just  that.
Awesome!
Did you think that was interesting?
I do!

Wal-mart Bank-rupt?

Wal-mart is now suffering  losses because people not going to it!
It was paying less to its employes.
A endangered market?
And then they quit.
And people stop going.
Which make them pay employes less to cut spending.
Bad loop.
So costumers are going to target, and other business.

#Q.P.!# Quick update on my knowedge.

The bitcoin is a online coin, which may soon replace money for the online world!
You now can mine for coins ... for about a month or two.
Then you:
                A| trade for them.
                B| buy them.
Here is the web: bitcoin.org/en/
I don't like them.
I don't because they only have 1,300,000,000.
And I also dislike them because they can't be traded for money!
Also, they are expensive!
That is why I dislike them.
The new currency?

#Q.P.!# Quick update on my knowedge.

Did you ever think that the annoying bee sting might help cure diseases?
No?
Well,it might actually will!
Bee Venom might be used to cure humans with HIV .
I'm not sure if the bees die from having there venom taken from them.
Do you?
I hope they find the right medicine for the job.
Don't you?
Link: http://theweek.com/article/index/241235/bee-venom-a-potential-hiv-killer

A toxic peptide called melittin, found in bee venom, could potentially prevent HIV.

If you were blind, could you still see?
Yes, if you had the Argus II!
They are a special pair of glasses that allow you to see a little bit more!

#Q.P.!# Quick update on my knowedge.

The Sequester is a big annoyance!
Its like a meteorite that (After they got it fixed) smashed thru the debt ceiling and lands on Obama and the GOP party.
Its going to make our country fall with all this money wasted!
And even worst... Their blaming it on each other!
http://media.salon.com/2010/02/healthcare_summit_could_become_obama_vs_gop_debate.jpg
Arg!
I'm not sure when it'll end!
