It's Adventure Van here, with a blog about the HORRORS OF GPS (Global Positioning Service)! While that's a bit dramatic, it's proven that using a GPS, or giving someone GPS like directions, can actually damage and 'turn off' the parts of their brain that help use planning and thinking, also known as the Hippocampus and the Prefrontal Cortex. A study by the University College of London showed that compared to people who used maps were using the already stated parts of their brain to get around, but the second group of people with GPSes to get around were using those parts almost none of the time during the project. It's slightly scary to know how the more tech advances, the more danger we're putting in fundamental parts of our brains.
That's Adventure Van, asking for directions.
Heya!
It's a me, Adventure Van! I'd just like to thank you all for coming and reading my less then good blog. It means a lot to me, so I hope you enjoy!

The Milgram Experiment
The Milgram Experiment was a experiment that was originally about seeing what was wrong with the Germans when the experimenters discovered something much worse. Want to learn more? Read on.
The Milgram Experiment was a simple test from what you could see. Milgram got a large group of individuals (Suckered in by the stated pay of 4 dollars, a lot for doing basically nothing.) and told them they were going to perform a test for seeing how pain helps people to learn correct ideas. One of the people would be selected to be the 'teacher' and the other would be the 'student'. They'd be given the pay for joining the experiment then, and told they could leave at any time. As the 'student' is told how to get in to the room where he'll answer questions, the 'teacher' is given the equipment and the instructions;
The 'teacher' will ask the 'student' questions, every wrong answer will give an shock, with power ranging from 15 to 450 volts. Each wrong answer will give a worse shock, the last one with a label of XXX and Skulls.
However, both of the random selectors are teachers, and the student is a paid man. The shocks are all fake. The test was really about obedience to authority. Milgram had assumed that the Germans had something wrong with them, otherwise why would they kill hundreds if they didn't want to? He thought that testing it on Americans, who prided themself as 'Never bending to Authority' would be a great control group when he tested the Germans later. However, he never got around to testing the Germans.
Instead, he found out that around 90% of people would go up to the full 450, even after the 'student' was crying in pain, complaining of a heart problem, and then just going silent. Why? The 'Obedience to Authority', or because the 'Doctor' (Milgram or another conspirator) said that the 'teacher' must continue, that he (the 'Doctor') took full responsibility, and that the experiment must continue. The crowd of people were given their pay in advance, so they could leave at any time. Instead, most of them followed, but almost all of those that followed were horrified with themself and were glad to see the 'student' leaving the room.
For those that left, though, Milgram found that around 65% of those who would leave the experiment were either working of former electrical workers, meaning that people familiar with a from of pain wouldn't force others to endure it. The other 35% were normal people who just wouldn't do it, one saying "I'm American, goddammit, and you can't stop me." Milgram would find a totally different result then what he intended to get, but one just as terrifying. Any people, no matter how much they pride themselves on 'freedom', can be forced to do something they don't want to do and don't have to do just by using some choice words.
It's scary, and now I'm going to hide under the bed.
Adventure Van, out. Wah.

Q.P. *Body Part Printing.*
I believe that the art of donation is going to be in the past soon. Scientists have found a way to reproduce stuff like kidneys, lungs, hearts, bones and more. They have also been working on a way to produce beef, and working on stuff like chicken and pork. I believe that we may never need to kill a animal again! They have also worked, in other news, on robotic arms and legs.

CHEMISTRY
I am now doing chemistry, since I am out of biology.
The first thing I learned was the periodic table. Did you know that there are 118 elements on it? Or that 3 fifths of it is metal? This is some of the stuff I learned about the periodic table.
Toothpaste has a ingredient Fluorine! Did you know that?
Aluminum is used in cannons! Is that not awesome?
Titanium makes fake hips! Wow!
Also, Did you know that butchers had iron chain mail gloves so their hands wouldn't get cut of? I didn't!
Cobalt is purple, and it makes all sort of stuff purple too.
Vanadium is green, but sometimes is purple like Cobalt.
Chlorium can cover anything. Someone even coated a teddy bear!
The More solid some thing is the more dense it is.
Brazil nuts have Selenium in them.
Nickel was found in Sweden.
Pantileum is worth more than gold!
Some metal can be liquid.
Gandium is yellow.
Manganese is red, and also yellow and orange.
Did you know that oxygen can be two different types of solid?
Iron can be made into pills, and also can be made into a dye.
Niobium can be dyed!
Ployedurs is liquid and solid.
Lutherium is so strong you can make earrings without needing to hook it!
Ytterbium is pink.
Technetium is used in x rays.
Lutheiunmim is yellow dye.
That's all folks!

Biology
This year I am learning about Biology. I will update my blog as I finish units with some interesting things I have learned.
I have been learning about The 7 Life Processes.
(Yes I copied and pasted(Would you want to write that!?!))
http://resources.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/revision/science/life.html
Sodium:A deadly explosion!
Chloride: some poison on the street.
1.Sodium + Chloride = Something deadly?
2.Sodium + Chloride =Salt?
1 or 2?
Answer: 2!
Is everything that is solid made of atoms?
Yes!
Are atoms made of atoms?
No!
Are atoms made of protons, electrons and neutrons?
Yes!
Is water (A liquid.(H2O(H2 +O = Water!))) Made of atoms?
Yes!
Q:Whats one thing that is in your body that has sugar in it?
Hint 1: It needs air!
Hint 2: You need it!
A:A cell!!!!
Impossible?
Who is researching here?
Me?
I thought so.
All of us need ______ more then ______.
A: Energy,Air
B:Air,Energy
Answer:A
You know what XYY is?
No?
XYY is a thing that makes you more aggressive.
The Francesco Redi Experiment proved that life did not come from nonliving.
I am now doing Chemistry!
I have been learning about The 7 Life Processes.
- Reproduction.Animals can live happily all their lives, growing, eating and moving around, but if they don't reproduce (make babies) they won't have anything to show for themselves in the future - their species will quickly die out.
- Transport. It's a simple fact, most animals move. Humans (like you) can move because your body is supported by an internal skeleton - that's right, you are just a bag of bones!
- Growing. Babies can't stay babies all their lives!
They have to grow up! When first born, human babies are completely dependent on their parents for everything - food, water, shelter, clothing. As babies grow into children and adolescents, humans are still dependent on their parents for many things - they have a lot of growing up to do, and don't become independent until they reach the age of about 18 when they go to college or move away from home. - Excretion.Excretion cleans up after respiration.
Respiration is a chemical reaction that takes glucose (sugar) and oxygen to produce energy. But it also produces water and carbon dioxide as bi-products.Excretion gets rid of carbon dioxide, water, and other, possibly harmful, substances from your body.
- Respiration. All animals respire. A lot of people think respiration means breathing - this is not true. Respiration is a chemical reaction. It occurs in every cell in your body.
- Nutrition.Nutrition is just a complicated word for something we all like doing - eating!
All animals, including humans, eat to live. They take in food at their mouths, munch it with their teeth, and the teeth break it down so it can be taken into the stomach. All the nutritious bits of the food are absorbed into the body through the intestine, and the rest comes out the other end!
- Sensitivity.Your senses let you know what is going on in the world around you. Humans have five senses: hearing, sight, smell, touch and taste. They are controlled by five sense organs: the ears, eyes, nose, skin and tongue.

Roly poly bugs
Roly poly bugs are my favorite bugs. I just love them. They're just so....simple. I don't know why. ? They just are. Oh, and here it is:
And his defensive self:
Him transforming:
The the average lifespan of a roly poly is between two and five years. Roly poly bugs cannot bite or sting and have an exoskeleton with plates. They eat stuff such as leafs, rotting stuff and stuff like that.
But, Hey! They are decomposers.
